April Wells

Co-Founder

April's passion for this work is deeply personal. As a mother who has navigated the fear and uncertainty of parenting a suicidal teen, and as someone who has lost a friend to suicide, April has turned her personal experiences into purposeful advocacy, education, and connection.

With more than twenty years of experience in the medical field in various caregiving and leadership roles, April brings a compassionate, informed perspective to every conversation she leads. In addition to her work with The Salus Collective, she is the owner of Gauthier Family Home Care, where she oversees a team dedicated to providing trusted, dignified care for older adults—another population often quietly struggling with suicidal ideation and emotional isolation. Her combined background in healthcare and lived experience has shaped her belief that prevention begins with awareness, empathy, and meaningful human connection.
