Mended with Gold.

In traditional Japanese Kintsugi art, a broken bowl is never discarded. It is repaired with lacquer mixed with powdered gold. The cracks are not hidden. They are illuminated. The fracture lines that once felt like the end of the object’s usefulness become the very things that make it rare, beautiful, and worth holding onto.
Many people who have lived through suicidal ideation describe a feeling of brokenness. It can feel as if something inside them has cracked in a way that cannot be repaired. In those moments, the thought of reaching out can feel impossible, and even useless. Asking for help can feel like admitting a deep secret or burdening others or proving that the damage is too great.
Kintsugi offers a different story.
It reminds us that broken does not mean over with. Fractured does not mean finished. And most importantly, repair is not meant to be done alone. The gold that fills the cracks is applied by steady hands outside of the bowl itself. These are hands that hold space, listen, support, and advocate.
Salus Collective's logo is a heart made of jewel-toned pieces outlined in gold. Each piece represents a part of us that has been dropped, cracked, handled carelessly, or worn thin by the terrain of life. The gold represents the friendships, resources, and community that help hold those pieces together again. Not to hide the cracks, but to honor the story they tell.
If you or someone you love is navigating suicidal ideation or a mental health crisis, reaching out is the first step toward your own kind of Kintsugi. It is the first step in letting others become the gold that steadies your shaking pieces.

You were never meant to mend alone.
There is strength in saying “I need help.”
There is courage in choosing to stay.
There is a community ready to be your gold. We believe that hope saves, connection heals, and no one should walk alone.
If you are struggling to stay safe or having thoughts of ending your life, please reach out for help right now. You are not in this alone.
